Have a kool yule
Was that first uttered by Skeeter (RIP James Kelmsley - Jack Wild last year and now Skeeter, lordamumsamercy me), the Fielders' Frrresh boy or the six white boomers?
Or was it the title of an Ol' 55 Christmas LP or the slogan for ice on sale at service stations? Did you know that petrol stations in Tasmania still have attendants to personally pump the tiger in your tank?! Well you do now.
Speaking of life as a 7 year old, here is a favourite Christmas carol from the time.
Christmas Day by John Wheeler and William G. James
The North-wind is tossing the leaves,
The red dust is over the town;
The sparrows are under the eaves
And the grass in the paddock is brown;
As we lift up our voices and sing
To the Christ-Child, the Heavenly King
The tree-ferns in green gullies sway;
The cool stream flows silently by:
The joy-bells are greeting the day,
And the chimes are adrift in the sky,
As we lift up our voices and sing
to the Christ-Child, the Heavenly King
Now i must go and listen to "An Australian Christmas".
Tomorrow: do's and don't's for Christmas fare and flair.

Was Skeeter Stephanie McIntyre's father? That's tout I'm parlezing - vous joinez les dots.
Ooh a puzzle and franglais for Christmas; certainly beats a sponge bag.
Yuletide felicitations, Bel.
I know that this is not strictly relevant to your post, but I have a problem, to wit that "Star Star" (said with cynical disdain, natch) is my favourite song on Goat's Head Soup. I feel it is the first and best example of the Chuck Berry rehashes that characterised Stonesy during the mid and late 1970s
Your advice please.
Jim Betts
Thank you Bettsy and the same to you and your good lady.
Speaking of Chuck Berry rehashes, on Saturday night at dinner there was a Bob Dylan song playin' and i was just waiting for the chorus to be Johnny B. Goode. I don't know what the fuck the song was as i forgot to ask for i was sidetracked by waiting for Johnny B Goode to be uttered and chewing. So hard to multi task at 42.
According to my driving instructor multitasking is the key to being a competent driver. Multitasking is the new term for co-ordinating. I can multi task but motor co-ordination (wo ho oh) is parlous.
I have to go and listen to starfucker now and i'll get back to you. A very interesting theme. Had you been getting into the yuletide mood by listening to Run Rudolph Run. Hansen actually did a cover of that.
As for it being your favourite track. Well who am I to opine?! Oh sorry it's nye not April Fool's day. Lawks. I think my current favourite goats head soup track is 100 years ago.
A fortnight ago i was listening to Mr Soul after imbibing several g and t's and kept noticing that the riff for Mr Soul is a curious hybrid of satisfaction and jumpin jack fucknuckle, well actually i think the tunes for those two are one of the same. I always felt that it was about mickey j.
Oh stars i must stop obsessing and revealing such nerdish analysis. Don't worry I don't have a theory about the final ep of the Soporanos.
i must go and do my toilette, got the Lord Mayor's do at the Quay. Will put on the GS.
Happy newie.
Bel
Marty did you mean Stephanie McIntosh?
Thunder On The Mountain from the mostly fine album Modern Times 2006 (fine throughout except for a large dose of elder-person sleaze eg a pass at Alicia Keyes, as if she's gonna drop everything and give it up for Bob, well I don't know maybe she would, but do I need to be a part of it?)
The li'l plot thickens!!! Aw revaw!
