Small town boy

On my way to lunch i bumped into Jimmy Somerville on the corner of Castlereagh and Park Streets. I guess he must still be on holiday here after Mardi Gras unless he's done a Leo Sayer and has emigrated to God's Own. I guess I'll never know. It was our first meeting and I was running late for luncheon so it was more tip of the hat than stop and chat. Oh the hustle and the bustle that is the Sydney C.B.D.

was he wearing a hat? Or just you?

He was wearing a baseball cap, me an invisible Trilby, the brim of which i tugged as i nodded at his upward, startled gaze.

I saw Jimmy Sommerville in the lobby at Star City a few years ago. However, there were no hats involved that I can recall.

Why, he is a veritable gadabout. Perhaps he lives here now and has become very Sydney where courtesy counts and hats have to be tipped in passing.

I'll be sure to bring the Fedora for my next trip.

I saw him a couple of weeks ago outside where the Sebel Town House used to be. Perhaps he was looking for the Ricky May bar.

Glory be, 'e is an ubiquitous character. Just as well that ricky may bar no longer exists as it was of gargantuan proportions, built for comfort no less, and anyone other than rm or jonathan coleman would feel rather swamped while taking a tipple there.

at this rate I'm surprised that js sightings haven't featured in column 8, oh what is that you say, non sequitur rising is the new column 8, oh lordamumsamercyme. time to hit that delete forever button on the blog's dashboard.
